Defense spending, Budget sequester and Me and YOU!

I am seeing articles on how defense spending will ‘suffer’ the most in the upcoming, and if the MSM has any effect ominous budget sequester on March 1. I personally am of the opinion that a decrease, sequestered, mandated or otherwise, is long past due.
The Military/Industrial complex that President Eisenhower warned us of many decades ago has only grown and become even more powerful. Maybe you have notice the multi million/half trillion dollar weapons/ships etc that have been funded, many of which are nothing much more than a laugh-at least for the funds expended, and might agree just based upon these monstrosities.
I have to side with those, most notably Dr Paul, that are of the opinion that we have very little business in hundreds of foreign military bases waging everyone else’s fight. I think now is the time that we can come home, delete a ton of these unnecessary, in my opinion, multi million dollar boondoogles and focus on the good ole US of A.
I think we should not hinder the purchase of guns by the way. Considering the above and historical documents and evidence, we don’t need anything but a considerable armed domestic, civilian military. I think that our citizens, at least those that can come to grips with the real world, will be able to learn to own, store and operate a weapon.
This has been, at least in my mind, the single most important deterrent to an invasion by foreign forces. Sure we could spend some million/billions on air and coastal defenses, which in my mind we haven’t done and adopt a come and get us sort of mentality.
Dang if we refocused all that money that we spend on these foreign excursions, we could surely pay down our TREMENDOUS DEBT in short order. With a sound economy here and world wide there would be, again in my opinion, a dearth of unrest in the world. We would cease to be a presence in countries that just don’t want us around and able to focus on our problems at home.
Please don’t say we have to ‘protect’ our ‘oil’ interests. considering all the evidence here at home, we will become one if not the largest oil producer in the world shortly and able to satisfy all domestic demand.
Think about it…

Gun Laws, here we go again

I don’t know all the details at this point on exactly what the President’s proposals are for more government control over guns and ammunition, but I can tell you that I am getting very tired of more and more big government control over my life…PERIOD!
We have definitely moved from a country of more freedom to one of much, much less freedom and much more centralized control over our lives. This reminds me, unfortunately, of all the rhetoric against the old U.S.S.R., which came tumbling down.
As much as many of us don’t want to believe that our country is moving in that direction, we must take a hard look at the reality of our situation! I shall name only 2 of the more onerous actions taken by our government (congress) and this doesn’t include any of the hundreds of ‘Executive Orders’ that also curb our freedoms; NDAA, National Defense Authorization Act, and The ‘Patriot Act’. These 2 Acts are in my mind some of the most un Constitutional ‘acts’ every perpetrated upon the American public.
When it comes to Executive orders, President Obama has ‘perfected’ what George W Bush started. As of September of 2012 he had signed 923 in just 40 months!!! Take a look at just a few:
THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION: Obama has signed 923 Executive Orders in 40 months!
What did Congress do in those 40 months? (The House – considerable. The Senate
-nothing, not even a budget nor allowing any House bill to be considered.) A
whole new order must prevail in Wash. DC as a result of this next election! Now
look at these:-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of
transportation and control of highways and seaports.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the
communication media.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power,
gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and
farms.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work
brigades under government supervision.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows the government to take over all health, education
and welfare functions.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the of all persons. Postmaster General to
operate a national registration-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to
take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate
communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be
abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland
waterways and public storage facilities.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal
departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued
over a fifteen year period.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency
Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in
times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce
the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to
establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate
penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to
develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and
distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money
in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also
provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress
cannot review the action for six months.Feel free to verify the “executive orders” at will… and these are just the
major ones I’m sure you’ve all heard the tale of the “Frog in the Pot”… you
all comfortable???
Watch Obama’s actions, not his words! By his actions he will show you where
America is headed.
I could rant all day on this stuff…as a good friend of mine said the other day, that it was his opinion that we (our generation or 55 and older)would be ‘all right’ but our kids might not be. How sad this is. We are letting everything that our founders stood for be spat upon and ignored!
There is only one thing between ‘We the People’ and fascism, and that is action by the former to stem the tides of more centralized controls over just about everything.
At the precipice of disaster
I haven’t been posting too much over the past several months as things in our country continue to deteriorate at the usual pace, fast and un challenged!
The economy is fragile and the ‘medicine’ that Ben Bernanke is giving the ‘system’ will soon become the poison–it is inevitable. This is not just me spouting off at the mouth but several very good economists with pretty darn good track records as well.
Take a look at this article, read it and weep for what once was and what is coming soon.
Major Bank, Economists Agree: Market Collapse Will Strike in 2013
Wednesday, 09 Jan 2013 10:22 AM
By Christian Hill
According to a major bank, a pair of noted economists, and one controversial billionaire, 2013 will be a “year of terrible reckoning” for the stock market.
JPMorgan just released its outlook for the first quarter. Surprisingly, this regularly bullish company has reversed course and revealed an ominous chart that every investor needs to be alerted to.
As you can clearly see, stocks have retraced the pattern from the last two big market rallies (averaging over 100%), and now face a massive decline in 2013 (of over 50%).
JPMorgan isn’t alone in its stark predictions.
Economist and NYU professor Nouriel Roubini has said in recent interviews that there is a chance that an economic “perfect storm” will devastate global markets in 2013. He points to a worsening eurozone crisis, a hard landing for the Chinese economy, and a war in the Middle East that could push oil prices above $200 a barrel.
Agreeing with Roubini’s worrisome outlook is billionaire Jim Rogers. In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Rogers says regarding 2013, “You should be very worried, and you should prepare yourself.”
Rogers referenced a little-known economic cycle that proves the United States experiences a slowdown every four to six years (and 2013 marks four years since our last slowdown).
Perhaps most alarming of all are the predictions made by economist Robert Wiedemer.
In a recent interview for his New York Times best-seller Aftershock, Wiedemer says, “The data is clear, 50% unemployment, a 90% stock market drop, and 100% annual inflation . . . starting in 2013.”
Editor’s Note: Watch the disturbing interview with Wiedemer. click here to view
Now before you dismiss Wiedemer’s claims as impossible or unrealistic, consider that he and his team of economists correctly foresaw the real estate collapse in 2006, the stock market crash of 2008, and the federal debt bubble plaguing America now.
And bear in mind, Sam Stovall of Standard & Poor’s has stated that Wiedemer “makes a compelling argument for a chilling conclusion,” and MarketWatch’s Paul Farrell called Wiedemer’s work “your bible.”
When the interview host questioned Wiedemer’s latest data, the author unapologetically displayed shocking charts backing up his allegations, and then ended his argument with, “You see, the medicine will become the poison.”
The interview has become a wake-up call for those unprepared (or unwilling) to acknowledge an ugly truth: The country’s financial “rescue” devised in Washington has failed miserably.
Wiedemer says blame lies squarely on those whose job it was to avoid the exact situation we find ourselves in, including current Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and former Chairman Alan Greenspan, tasked with preventing financial meltdowns and keeping the nation’s economy strong through monetary and credit policies.
Shocking Footage: See the eerie chart that exposes the ‘unthinkable.’
At one point, Wiedemer even calls out Bernanke, saying that his “money from heaven will be the path to hell.”
But it’s not just the grim predictions that are causing the sensation; rather, it’s the comprehensive blueprint for economic survival that’s really commanding global attention.
Now viewed over 50 million times, the interview offers realistic, step-by-step solutions that the average hard-working American can easily follow.
The overwhelming amount of feedback to publicize the interview, initially screened for a private audience, came with consequences as various online networks repeatedly shut it down and affiliates refused to house the content.
Bernanke and Greenspan were not about to support Wiedemer publicly, nor were the mainstream media.
“People were sitting up and taking notice, and they begged us to make the interview public so they could easily share it,” said Newsmax Financial Publisher Aaron DeHoog, “but unfortunately, it kept getting pulled.”
“Our real concern,” DeHoog added, “is what if only half of Wiedemer’s predictions come true?
“That’s a scary thought for sure. But we want the average American to be prepared, and that is why we will continue to push this video to as many outlets as we can. We want the word to spread.”
I urge you to take the necessary precautions as things could get rather weird in the coming days and months ahead! No one knows the exact moment, but many will point back in time and pick some arbitrary event that ’caused it all’. Ben Bernanke will most likely avoid ridicule. Many have been, are and will be responsible for our economy and none will be made responsible.

2nd Amendment

I am the first to say that the recent shooting in CT was a national tragedy. It is hard to fathom how someone, anyone can do such a thing.
The political backlash is another new debate on the 2nd amendment and how the current administration can dilute it. In my opinion there is just no good way to limit the ownership of firearms. Criminals will always be able to acquire them on the street, much as they do now, and use them for the purpose the criminal intends–harm, robbery, murder. Determination is the key here, and anyone that is determined enough can acquire a weapon just about anywhere on the planet!
Perhaps we should prohibit the sale of a firearm to ANYONE that has been prescribed psychotropic medications? I am sure the big pharma guys would be all for that piece of legislation, although it doesn’t sound bad does it? No one wants crazy people running around with guns now do they?
Of course, with the CT shooting the boy didn’t own any guns, his mom did and he stole them from her. How you would avoid this shooting is beyond me given the current state of affairs. It is a true tragedy.
Perhaps the only way that such an incident would have had the possibility of being stopped is if school personnel were themselves armed and able to engage this demented person before or during his rampage to either stop or limit the casualties.
Don’t you think that those with bad intentions would think twice about coming into our schools if they were aware that the personnel were armed and ready to protect our children?
The reverse can be seen in Australia for example. Once guns were either taken or highly regulated, requiring them to be held in a safe etc., making them very hard to use, criminal invasions of homes increased. The criminals knew their time had arrived and they could attack citizens with impunity.
Among many people in this country weapons are tools and are treated with respect and care. Everyone in the house knows how to use them and what to use them for. The respect in the community for one another is very high. Thus the saying, an armed society is a polite one.
While there are always bad apples in the barrel, it doesn’t mean that the whole lot is ruined. There are a lot of positives to owning weapons in this country today. The negatives are what we see on mainstream media today. Of course there are a ton of shootings in this country every year, many of them instigated by criminal elements. Others by seriously demented individuals.
One of the reasons that gun ownership is not such a bad thing is we would be very hard to invade. An invading army would be hard pressed to make a lot of headway, without serious casualties, against such a formidable force. If this were to happen, foreign troops on our shores, the military would have failed in their purpose, leaving it to us alone to correct the incursion.
For me ‘homeland security’ would be reason enough to own a weapon.
Weather related disasters on the upswing?

More information is coming out now about the frequency of disasters worldwide. According to one insurance think tank over the past 3 decades natural weather disasters have quintupled. If you ever wondered why your insurance premiums have increased this factoid could be the key.
Floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires and derechos as a group are on the upswing and they are getting more expensive as property values in the more desirable waterfront areas becomes more expensive. As we throw good money after bad in rebuilding in places in coastal areas that are prone to flooding I am hoping someone will begin to reassess that waste.
We have to become a bit smarter about the places where we want to build our neighborhoods when it comes to wildfires, hurricanes and flooding. Does it make sense to rebuild in areas that can just disappear in the blink of an eye? At what cost both financially and in human lives does this equation become sensible?
Tornadoes can hit just about anywhere and there are things one can do to decrease loss of life so the positioning of towns etc is not as much of a concern as taking proper precautions in the event one strikes near you.
Whatever the cause of these disasters, for the common man, the reality is that they happen and you can’t ever tell where or when they will occur-only that they will happen. Thus, ultimately it is up to the individual to make these choices and then live with them even in the face of extreme hardship. The question becomes should a bad decision by one or many be borne by those who make better choices?
The world is becoming a different place and we must adjust our living habits and desires to increase our chances of survival, or at least existence with a minimum of suffering. Nature is not forgiving and second chances should be carefully evaluated and hopefully good decisions will be made!
Being Prepared for Disasters!
In the past I have had people write to me and tell me that I am a ‘fear monger’, using fear to sell products. I would think that Hurricane Sandy would put those statements to rest! Just think where those people are that had some supplies stored up, propane camp stove and a gravity fed water filter. I am pretty sure that they are not dumpster diving for food and going without water.
We have relatives in the lower Manhattan area that live in some pretty posh digs and they might as well be in a tenement building, they would be better off for sure! They have had no power or water since Sunday night. No internet no cell phone, no nothing! The company he works for finally got him a very expensive hotel room so that he could work, he is a ‘virtual’ employee.
He was going to coffee shops etc uptown but they are all packed since everyone has that same idea. They have power uptown and it is warm and you can buy food. Downtown, you can just forget about all that. Of course, getting from downtown Manhattan to anywhere can be an issue as well. Limited subway lines open and cars require fuel and there appears to be little of that.
Then you can look at the footage of this huge disaster, Staten Island is a mess along with long island and New Jersey. Fist fights over food and fuel are becoming common. Between that and the high level of destruction there are places with Martial Law now. Wow! The survival instincts of many are kicking in and if food, water and shelter aren’t delivered ASAP you could see things deteriorate further.
I just hope that those that think storing up some food and making just very basic preparations is a crazy idea will wake up in time. We are having some pretty wild natural disasters of late and they might, just maybe get caught in one and wish they had taken the advice to prepare yourself and family for the unforeseen event that could cause a lot of suffering, more than necessary.
The bottom line is that the supply chains for virtually everything we use, food, water, fuel, etc. are very fragile indeed. Once broken it can take a while to fix and during that time what will you do?
Fukushima getting worse

The news is certainly continues to be bad here. Not only do we not get a true picture of the situation on the ground at the plant, but the subject is literally ignored by the media at large. We have nothing to go on from Mainstream media!
Fortunately there are a few ‘leaks’ from high placed officials in Japan. Most recently the ex ambassador from Japan to Switzerland and Senegal has said that the situation continues to worsen. The ground underneath reactor 4 is sinking and threatens the structural integrity of the reactor.
Not good news considering that there are 1500 spent rods in the building with enough radiation to make the world completely uninhabitable…WOW! That is serious folks. If that building goes there would be a meltdown of the reactor and ensuing fire in the atmosphere and it would go downhill from there!!!!
Yet, the nuclear industry continues to tell us that this form of energy production is safe. Unbelievable!!!
Proposition 37, breaking news
October 20, 2012 by Steve

This is just in…the opposition group to the passage of Proposition 37 in California may have crossed the line from lies to criminal behavior. They, Monsanto, Dupont et al, that sponsor the ‘No to Proposition 37′ coalition sent out a letter that utilizes the FDAs logo, a criminal offense according to the law. We will see if the authorities do anything about this. My bet is we will not. Big government and big business walk hand in hand!
I am absolutely for Proposition 37 as is Dr Oz, among other mainstream celebrities. I feel that that there are many dangers associated with GMOs (genetically modified ingredients). First, these abominations are created using unproven technology..the scientists are never really sure what has happened after the ‘blast’ in the ‘new’ genes into the existing genetic structure of the plant, or animal, they wish to ‘modify’. This procedure gives us an organism that may or may not be beneficial to the human condition nor the worlds food supply at large. There has been little long term research on these organisms except perhaps the latest University of Caens report of the effects of these things on mice and that should be enough to scare the pants off just about anyone. These organisms are not safe and could in fact be killers!
Second, once these things have been created in plants the ‘creating’ company, such as Monsanto, then OWNS the seeds. The ramifications of this is indeed dangerous. Having a multinational, or any corporation, own…literally own the very seed from which we get our nourishment is to me so very threatening. They could in fact control our food supply, even if you wanted to grown food in your garden at home!!!
Given the lack of humanity of these corporations I would bet that they want to maximize their profits and increase their power even if it causes great misery to the masses! This is a scenario of horror that I for one would not like to contemplate. What this means for you as an individual and our country must be contemplated!
